About us

Throughout time, that union of wise and virtuous men called “Freemasonry” has been considered to be the sanctuary of good morals, a school of innocence and virtue, the Temple of philanthropy.

Freemasons believe in one and only God whom they love, respect and call the Great Architect of the Universe (G.A.O.T.U.).

Freemasonry teaches how to ennoble man’s heart but also, as the name suggests, it instructs on how to metaphorically build Temples and to erect Prisons.

Temples for the virtue of Charity and Prisons for the vice of Avarice!

A Brother must be a sober and generous person. Those men, whose nature has not been shaped and enhanced by these marks of character, cannot expect to belong to this union of wise individuals.

In the words of Andrew Michael Ramsay, the “Grand Orator” of French Freemasonry in the later part of the 17th century, a true Freemason must: “protect the Brethren by (his) authority, enlighten them by (his) knowledge, edify them by (his) virtues, support them in their necessity, sacrifice all personal resentment and strive after all that may contribute to the peace and unity of society”.

Such is an enlightened Freemason.
